Cooking with Mrs. Pitt
I’m making Acorn Squash! It’s something my mom used to make every once in a while, and it was the only way she could get me, or my brothers, to eat the stuff. I get the feeling a lot of kids don’t care for squash. Maybe it’s the name, maybe it’s the texture, who knows.
It’s really hard to cut through a squash with a dull knife! But, I managed. My buttered and brown sugared halves are now in the oven, cooking and becoming more and more tasty with every passing minute. If only they didn’t take so long to bake!
Sometime I’m going to make home-made beef stew, but I’ll wait until I can find meat that I deem affordable enough. I can’t fathom paying more than $10 for beef if I’m not even sure the recipe I try will be any good! *sigh* That’s the problem with learning to cook… all the trial and error is expensive!

The only squash I make is butternut squash! Yummy.
There is something for you on my blog.

I LOVED acorn squash as a kid, but it might have been because of all the sugar.
I also have a trick for you – if you poke a couple holes in it with a fork and pop it in the microwave for two minutes, it’s a lot easier to cut through.
