About a month and a half before my niece was born, I asked the father-to-be to help me out with a photoshoot! I thought the contrast between the masculine future father and the tiny pink shoes would be a lot of fun. They turned out pretty good, don’t you think? *grin*
I know my last post was photos too, but this place won’t turn entirely into a photoblog, I promise. It’s just that I’ve really been wanting to share these and I had to wait until after my sister-in-law got her baby shower gift, since it included framed prints of the first three shots and they were a surprise! The baby shower was tonight, so I finally get to show these off! Whoohoo! (Unfortunately, the shots of the baby I took tonight were all blurry due to low light. I should be taking some more on Thursday during the day though!)

Afterward, we went to Aster Cafe, where we were among the first people to experience the restaurant’s reopening! It was really fun, especially since it was so spur-of-the-moment. It’s not everyday you accidentally stumble into a business’s trial run!
We were in the right place at the right time, I guess. And yes, the blue cheese plate w/honey, pear slices, and walnuts was scrumptious!!
The Table & Chairs Project…
I was looking around on Flickr this evening and ran across this really great little project! This sort of thing gets my mind moving. There are so many ways you can shoot different subjects! The photos in the pool so far are clever and creative. Of course, my favorite might be the one with the Lego in it… *grin* This sort of project makes me want to dream up something and give it a go. I don’t let my creative mind out nearly enough!

Her Golden Boots
My bestie, Mara, has the most amazing gold, super-hero snow boots. I snapped this photo of them when she came over on New Years for an old school sleep-over! It was a great night!
There were lots of leftover Christmas goodies, and board games, and movie watching, and plenty of girl talk. The only thing we didn’t find time for was giving each other makeovers, but there’s always next time! *grin*
I quit!
I do, I quit.
It’s time to end the guilt and inaction thing. I’ve been making strides, even if they seem a little off target, but I do feel less stagnant and that’s a good thing.
Anyway, what have I been up to? I experimented with roasted brussel sprouts a couple of days ago! (That was my New Year’s Resolution!) I also went to see the frozen waterfall yesterday! And I started knitting something (relatively) successfully for the first time recently!
Alright, so none of that is super exciting, but fighting the post-Christmas/winter blues is always a little rough for me. It’s nice to be able to see the end of winter off in the distance! It’s even been in the 30′s for a few days now… (though there is more snow due on Saturday, I think. Boo!) Better days are coming!
