Thursday Adventure
My Thursday adventure was fantastic. I had no doubts it would be. Mara is super sweet and somehow manages to make me feel like I’m not terribly dull to be around. I know I’m not the best conversationalist, but she puts up with me very nicely. *grin*
After our breakfast, we took the bus down Nicollet Ave. just south of Lake St. and headed further south. We found a bunch of great places, but my favorite was a little multi-artist boutique called I Like You. I bought Jon a little handmade refrigerator magnet that has an old school toy robot pictured on it.
Intermingled with the shopping, we created a little mischief by doing some sidewalk chalk drawings! I took photos of the chalk before we used it, but I forgot to shoot our pictures. Oh well… there’s always next time!
Good Week!
I had a great visit with my Dad last night and this morning. We went to Buca‘s for dinner, and he generously paid despite how easy it is to rack up a big bill there. Then we went to my brother’s place for another try at Nottingham. It was still fun to play, but it definitely moves slower around the table when you have five people instead of three. After that, we came back to my apartment to do some Wii bowling and play some Super Monkey Ball party games.
Since we kept Dad up so late, he decided not to drive back home until today, so before he left we went shopping for some Heroscape expansions. We didn’t find anything he needed, but it was fun to look. We’re going down to his house next week so we can play a round or two. We’re geeky like that. *grin* After that we found some lunch at the mall and my husband decided to shop for cell phones. I’m starting to come around to the cell phone thing, slowly but surely, but I end up playing “bad cop” when we shop so that the sales people don’t sell us a bridge.
And, tomorrow is adventure day! I get to go back to my very favorite breakfast restaurant, Hell’s Kitchen! I really hope my friend Mara likes it there. It’ll be my first time at their new location, so that’s kind of exciting too. After I stuff myself full of Toasted Sausage Bread, we’re going to discover all the odd little shops along southern Nicollet Ave. I’m going to bring my camera, so hopefully I’ll have a bunch of great things to upload to Flickr tomorrow night. It’s going to be such a great day!
